Operating Characteristics

  • Polarity: AC or DC+ (direct current electrode positive).
  • Preheat/Interpass Temperature: Generally ≤ 150°C (300°F) to minimize distortion and hot cracking.
  • Post-Weld Treatment: Stress relief annealing at 600–650°C may be applied for critical applications.
  • Storage: Keep in dry conditions; re-dry at 250–300°C for 1–2 hours if moisture pickup occurs.

TOKO-Specific Features

  • Arc Stability: TOKO E347-16 delivers a smooth, stable arc with minimal spatter, ideal for precision welding.
  • Slag Detachability: Easy slag removal saves time and improves weld surface quality.
  • Niobium Stabilization: Ensures resistance to intergranular attack even after prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.
  • Certifications: Meets international standards including ISO, EN, and ASME for critical service.
⚠️ Important: E347-16 is the preferred choice for welding types 321, 347, and 348 stainless steels where niobium stabilization is required to prevent chromium carbide precipitation and maintain corrosion resistance at high temperatures.
