TOKO ER5356 welding wire is a type of welding wire used for welding aluminum alloys. It is a solid, non-flux-cored wire that is typically used for gas metal arc welding (GMAW), also known as metal inert gas (MIG) welding.
ER5356 wire is made from an aluminum-magnesium alloy (5% Mg) that provides good corrosion resistance, particularly in saltwater environments. It is commonly used for welding 5000-series aluminum alloys, which are known for their good workability, weldability, and corrosion resistance.
ER5356 wire is compatible with a wide range of shielding gases, including
argon, helium, and argon-helium mixtures. The selection of the appropriate
gas depends on the specific welding application and the desired weld
quality. This welding wire is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, and it can be used for both structural and decorative welding tasks. However, it is important to note that the welding process requires skill and
expertise to achieve good results. Overall, ER5356 welding wire is a high-quality, versatile product that is widely used in the welding industry for joining aluminum alloys.
ER5356 or ER4043: Which one is suitable for you?
1. ER4043 is a Silicon-Aluminum base wire while ER5356 is Magnesium-Aluminum base wire.
2. ER4043 has a low melting point but higher molten pool fluidity compared to ER5356 wire. 3.
ER5356 welding wire is suitable for anodizing after welding however ER4043 does not suit after weld anodizing weld applications. 4.
ER5356 is a magnesium-containing wire that has a higher weldability, higher welding strength and better ductility. It is best used for welding thicker sheets of aluminum.

AWS Class ER5356 welding electrode is an aluminium magnesium welding wire
with 5% magnesium and 0.8% manganese content. Its chemical composition makes
it ideal for welding aluminium alloys 5083, 5086, 5154, 5454, and 5456.
ER5356 is suitable for both MIG and TIG welding processes.
AWS Class ER5356 alloy has excellent mechanical properties, including high
flexibility, toughness, and strength. The welded joints using ER5356 have
high fatigue strength and resist stress-cracking corrosion. ER5356 has an
ultimate tensile strength of 41000 psi and yield strength of 31000 psi.

Typical data and Test results for mechanical properties, deposit or
electrode composition and other properties were obtained from a weld
produced and tested according to prescribed standards, and should not be
assumed to be the expected results in a particular application or
weldment. Actual results will vary depending on many factors, including,
but not limited to, weld procedure, plate chemistry and temperature,
weldment design and fabrication methods. Users are cautioned to confirm
by qualification testing, or other appropriate means, the suitability of
any welding consumable and procedure before use in the intended
application.
