William Wu attends APEC China CEO Forum

December 25, 2021

2021 marks the 30th anniversary of China's accession to Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). This year's APEC China CEO Forum is taking place in Beijing. Officials, business leaders and experts are brought together to brainstorm a path for sustainable growth in a world rocked by the pandemic.

SUN XIAO Director General, Multilateral Cooperation Department, China Chamber of International Commerce "Over the past three decades, China's business sectors have turned from 'buying tickets to see the play' to 'performing on the stage' after integrating into APEC. But as they participated in more and more international trade, they found that their business could be a failure even though they produced the best product. The business leaders now realize that they should make good products and also actively participate in creating economic and trade rules to increase their influence on the international stage."

XU KEMIN Chief Economist, Chinese Ministry of Industry & Information Technology "Major countries in the world, including the Asia Pacific Region, are calling for full use of the opportunities brought by digitization and new technological innovation to promote digital technology in manufacturing. Digital transformation needs to play a vital role in boosting the substantial economy and enhancing the resilience of enterprises."
